A successor to the Smart Fortwo will be on sale in Europe in less than 8 months and DaimlerChrysler will be selling the Smart car in the United States!
The 2008 Fortwo will be extended by a few inches and weight will increase slightly. We're told this was done for U.S. requirements and compliance reasons. The new Smart will be embracing the Brabus appearance.
The Smart's headlights will be larger and more aerodynamic, tail lights will be restructured, improved horse power, enhanced gas mileage, superior safety features, additional color alternatives and added standard and optional equipment will be available. The Smarts windshield angle will be modified for new protection of pedestrians standards.
Why Smart? For us, and many thousand drivers around the world, Smart stands for...
Superbly
Manufactured
And
Reliable
Transportation!
When DaimlerChrysler first presented the Smart to Canada in 2004, it didn’t have nearly enough inventories to meet Smart’s high demand.
During that first year, Smart Cars substantially exceeded all Canadian sales targets, selling almost 5000 cars. Canadian Smart buyers had to wait 6 to 10 months for their Smart ForTwo, even with a large deposit. Many are still waiting for their Smart Car.
Now, Smart Car of America has started its first North American survey and needs your input!
Americans are innovators; we don’t want to wait as long. Your responses will help us to drive Smart straight to American driveways with less wait and less hassle than our Canadian neighbors.
Your answers fuel accurate statistics, data and critical information that we need to provide Smart manufacturers and suppliers. Your input will get you the right models, equipped with the Smart options and colors you need.
